A big ol piggy from Henrys Lake, Idaho and caught by good friend and guide Chris Chase. This one is just shy of 10lbs.

The fish were plentyfull and hard hitting!!

The Brookies have shown up in great numbers. There have been many over the 4lb mark. If you want to catch a big brookie in the lower 48 states this would be the year.

Delaney Butte Lakes

Water coming over Pathfinder dam. It was a sight to behold!

Out for some lunch---hummm sagebrush--yummy!!

Couldn't pass up on these flowers that were around the Delaney Butte Lakes in Walden, CO.

The midge hatch was heavy at times along with some Damsels. The fish were active and hitting hard!!

Old structure at Pathfinder dam. It looked like at one time it transported material and humans across the vast open canyon to the other side. Oh what a ride that would be :)

Fall Fishing at Henrys Lake

Henry's Lake is one of those lakes that keeps a person coming back. It is such an awesome fishery. It can be a stingy day or a day where you can't keep the fish off your line. At times it seems you could use a bare hook and still catch fish.

This was one of those days where the fish were a little stingy and making us work harder than we wanted too. However, the fish we caught were colored up and looking pretty. The weather was awesome and fishing with good friends always makes it a good time had by all.

Here are a few pretty colored up Cutty's.

No monsters of the deep this trip but what an awesome day to fish!!

Little Brookies offer so much for old and young. They photograph well too I might add. They are starting to color up for the spawn and looking pretty.

The moose even like the Beaver Ponds as well. This one decided to take over Micah's spot he had just barely vacated. It was a fun night had by all!

Damsel time in the summer is one of my favorite time. This year was able to enjoy it with my dad and friends. It was alot of fun and caught some nice fish. I also captured a few photos along the way! Enjoy!!

Beaver Ponds and Brookies

Little outing with "Smalls". She is a trooper and half. She wanted to go for a ride so off we go. She loves being outdoors doing things. We went in search of finding some beaver ponds. The weather was decent but we were expecting storms to roll in. We were also looking for some places for the boy scouts to camp as well. We were instructed were to find some ponds. Alot of the roads had closed to vehicle traffic so we went on to other roads not mark. We came down off this hill and whaaaala there was several beaver ponds.

I had not expected to fish but just had too. We had not taken a lot of gear but always keep a few rods handy with an assortment of flies. The only dries I had were two Callibaetis Cripples. We put one on and we were off. "Smalls" tagged along and was excited to catch some fish. We thru out some casts with not even a swirl or a bump. We moved the next biggest pond. First cast--bang. Second cast--bang. So I turned the rod over to "Smalls". I casted it out and bang--the Brookies were eager. She was able to land this one and was so excited---"can I pet it".

We moved on the next pond that I thought would hold some bigger fish. After tromping thru the mud and water there ought to have been giant brookies waiting are every cast. I'm not sure "Smalls" was ready for this excursion. She kept going and settled in to playing with the straps of the camera bag. Lots of casts and no takes. Snow rolled in and she says "dad can we go now I'm cold". Bless her little blond hairs--it was getting chilly. The big lake for now would kick me good and would not give up her fish.

Laramie Lakes and Rivers

Just one of the Laramie Lakes located in Laramie Wyoming. It was a fun little fishery and held a good number of fish in the 2 to 3lb range. It also had some Junior class mixed in that were just as eager to take the fly.

Fished with Nate Mecijalski from the Laramie area. He owns High Plains Fly Fishing and Guide many of the Lakes and Rivers in the Laramie area. I wasn't able to meet up with him till the middle of the afternoon so the catching was off but still had a great time.

Wyoming Territorial Prison

I have been lucky enough to be next to them at the ISE Sports Expo show in Salt Lake City. They are very generous and take care of thier booth buddies well!!! Just look at the food below yummmmmy!!

To my Dad who has been an inspiration in so many ways--with life in general and specificly with photography. I used to help in the Darkroom back in the day of just B&W photos. The teacher that always had the motto of "You can do anything --just dive in and learn" Thanks Dad for this and many life lessons learned.

But---really---if your catching bruisers like this on a dry fly! I mean we had Trico's, Two Different types of Caddis. Still slurping Callibaetis even into the evening. Suffer me right:)
